Dr. Spalding is a trauma and acute care surgeon and the Director of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery Research at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He received a Bachelor of Science in biological science (2001) from Ohio University, Doctor of Philosophy in bioengineering (2010) from the University of Pittsburgh and graduated medical school (2010) from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Spalding completed residency (2015) at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital and a fellowship (2016) in surgical critical care at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Health and Hospital.
He is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, American Medical Association and the Association of Academic Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Spalding is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery in general surgery and surgical critical care.
