Devin Kolmetzky is a third-year medical student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Temple University in 2017 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Physics. There, he worked in the lab of Dr. John Elrod studying mitochondrial calcium handling dynamics in the setting of heart failure and Alzheimer's disease. In 2019, Devin then completed the post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Washington University in St. Louis. While in St. Louis, he worked as a patient care technician in the inpatient behavioral health and neurological units at St. Louis Children's Hospital. In addition, he also worked under the mentorship of Dr. David Limbrick to study the morphological changes of the spinal canal of children with syringomyelia and Arnold-Chiari malformations. As Devin enters the second half of his medical school career, his interests lie in neurosurgery and osteopathic medicine. Outside of his interests in medicine and research, Devin is a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan, enjoys vacationing in Michigan and the New Jersey shore, and is a proud father to his cat, Rain.
